This has been all over the news lately and I’ve read a ton about it, but still have no clue what it is. This video really explains some things and brings everything into clear view. Check it out here.

Year of the Bible!
We have started. I hope you are following along. If you are not, jump in. If you have started and stopped already, jump back in. Keep the momentum! You will not regret reading through the bible with the church. Challenge yourself to read every day. Challenge yourself to get up earlier each day to spend time with the Lord. Set aside the time to do this each day!
It was a great day of worship at HGBC! We celebrated. God was honored.
Here’s the set list:
Cannons-Wickham
Our God-Tomlin
Come Thou fount-Hymn
How deep the Father’s love for us-Sadler (probably one of my favorite songs of all time)
The Stand-Hillsong United

So this whole diet thing has been a really good experiment for me. I haven’t reached my goal yet but I am halfway there. This is what I’ve been doing. I’ve cut out all fat and all carbs and added in a ton protein. I know I know, everyone will say this is the Atkins and that this won’t last. That’s one of the reasons why I didn’t wanna say anything. Let me tell you about the Atkins. You eat a ton of meat (protein) and no carbs. Only problem is, you consume a massive amount of fat. That’s where the health issues come from. There are certainly risks in cutting out all fats and carbs as well which is why this is only a 12 day experiment. One of my issues is that I could not work out very hard because there was no carbs to pull energy from. It was very difficult.
I was used to eating probably over 100 grams of fats and carbs per day. That’s a low estimate. I cut that back to around 3 grams per day. That’s pretty significant. So no doubt this does the trick but may be unsustainable. Also, my “normal” weight range for my age and height is 33 pounds less than where I am today. I will look pretty sick. And be pretty unhealthy. So I’m waving the white flag on the 12 day experiment and taking on a 30-60 day experiment for the other half of my desired loss. This gives me more energy to work out and is a healthier walk down.
Here’s what I’ve eaten the past 6 days:
Isopure protein
Lean chicken
Shrimp- precooked, heated, eaten
Flounder
Asparagus, spinach
10 calorie Jell-o
That’s it. I literally grilled every day for 6 days. It’s a great jumpstart to weight loss and overall health.
I will still eat these foods almost daily, but will add more grams of fat and carbs (way less than my norm) for the rest.
Try it. Let me know how it works.

I’m discouraged and encouraged all at the same time.
I’m a little discouraged because I did not lose anything yesterday. However, I’m encouraged because I did not gain anything. I had to come away from the plan due to my assistant’s birthday lunch. I actually ate till I was full but did not finish my food. So, I’m feeling like I will be able to maintain once I’m done with all of this. Today I weighed in at 200.2. No difference from yesterday morning.
This is not just a lose weight thing for me because I want to be skinny. I recently had some blood work done and found out that my cholesterol and blood pressure was at the top of the normal range. I figured I would help myself out if I could change some eating habits. This, I believe, will get me there! Plus it’s a lot harder to do pull ups when you weigh more. I gotta win at least one of the challenges at the Good Friday Beat Down…
