Leadership…

15 Apr

Part 4 of this leadership series is an eye opener!

A leader who has followers is insecure…

A leader who reproduces is secure…

Which one are you?

Really think about this one. Are you totally secure in who you are in Christ? Christ is where security and significance is found.

Insecurity is caused by selfishness. It carries that "I matter" mentality. Therefore, if it is not all about you, somehow things are wrong.

Security is, on the other hand, caused by selflessness. Security is knowing that it all relies on God and not me. Security wants the best for the Kingdom, not ourselves.

Insecurity:

"What can I do so people notice me?"

Security:

"How can I lift up someone else in this situation?"

Insecurity:

"Why are my needs not getting met?"

Security:

"How can I meet others' needs?"

Insecurity:

"Why is this happening to me?"

Security:

"How will God reveal Himself?"

Ashamedly, I admit that I am insecure at times. I find myself asking these questions. Remember, this is not for me to tell anyone else how to do certain things. This is for me as well. I desire to be secure in Christ as a leader. This is my journal in the journey.

Find security in Christ today. Ask Him to show you steps to lead you away from insecurity. Do that today…maybe even now…

Become secure. Reproduce leaders.

One Response to Leadership…

ouch. this one can be tough because i feel most people’s default is insecurity. we have to actually put effort into being a secure leader. this reminds me of when Jesus was feeding the people and he was like, look, you people are only here because I’ve feed you. if you really want to follow me, do what i say. so Jesus laid the example by saying he doesn’t need more people around just to build his ego- if they’re not buying into the leadership he’s trying to replicate, He’d rather they go home.
