So I'm torn.
People have fussed at me for not doing enough Christmas music. My response…"How much is enough?"
So then I start to think of the issue. For me, I don't think "ALL" Christmas music is worshipful of Christ. Some of the songs are difficult to understand. I sang Gloria in excelsis Deo. What exactly does that mean? Anyway, my point is this, seasonal stuff is fun and brings back some great memories, but how purposeful and intentional are they in the church? Thoughts.
Set list for this past Sunday AM…
Have you ever been blasted on Facebook?
Ever been fussed at through email?
Ever had a fight over Twitter?
It seems as though folks nowadays are using Social Media to handle their business. It can be a great tool for communication IN ADDITION to living life together face to face. I have witnessed a lot of gossip and indirect slams on Facebook. I can't see how that is honoring God. I don't think Jesus ever called us to forsake the real relationship for the electronic ones. The bible states in Matthew very clearly how to handle conflict and confrontations. We are setting ourselves up for failure in relationships when we don't handle situations like Jesus did. I know it can be hard and very awkward to confront others. It's not supposed to be easy! But typed words can be taken out of context. Also, using indirect speech about someone else or a situation can be flat out cowardly. Remember, we are sharpening iron. Sparks are gonna fly. But the end result is pleasing to God.
As I go back and read this, I kinda feel like I am indirectly talking about something! I really am not. I just don't want to see a community of people torn apart by insecurity and avoidance. Let's strengthen our community.

So this week's earworm is no surprise. I should have posted this last week when the album dropped but I wanted to hear it and see if it was up to all the hype….and it is! Phil Wickham's Heaven and Earth is really good. You will be drawn in by his incredible vocals and great lyrics. Once you get it, listen to "SAFE". It is a quick favorite. You can get it on amazon.com right here on this blog..down on the right. Go get it! You will love it!

I like to blog this on Tuesdays because that's when new stuff drops, but for some reason, it is coming out later in the day than normal. So what I may start doing is giving some cd's away of some of the folks I like to listen to. This week I am giving away the Jared Anderson Live From My Church album. I like Jared's music alot. If you want this cd, comment on here and I will put your name in a drawing. I will draw the name tomorrow morning at 10:00AM and mail it to you.
I hope you win!!
