New adventures ahead…

So, I have had a very strange couple of weeks here lately. A wide range of emotions and thoughts have been going through my head. The reason why you ask…We are moving to Charlotte, NC!

Many of you guys may have already known, but to the ones who do not know yet…there it is. We are leaving McGregor and heading to Hickory Grove Baptist Church North Campus in Charlotte. God has called and we are going. I will be serving as Worship Pastor. I am excited about the opportunity to live out all of the things God has put in my heart as far as worship and creative arts.
This past Sunday, I was able to share with my Sunday School class that I love so much. We studied a passage of scripture in Matthew 28. Yes the Great Commission. We are commanded to GO and share the gospel. We GET THE CHANCE to partner with God. We represent HIM in this world.

I told the class that I would be a hypocrite if I urged them to go when God calls yet do not go myself. God opens the door. We can choose to join Him.

When opportunities come, test them to see if God is in it. He will reveal Himself to you through His word.

Matthew 28:19-20…
Go, therefore, and make disciple of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age…

Max Lucado goodness…

A couple of days ago I was reading some tweets. This is my daily obsession it seems. I can't seem to stop reading what some of these great thinkers are sharing. I was blown away by Max Lucado recently.

He wrote, "The worship of safety emasculates greatness. No wonder Jesus wages such a war against fear."

It took me a few minutes for that to sink in. But when it did, I felt this freedom come over me. I don't want fear or safety to ever keep me back from God's best.

Time for a tune up…

My check engine light came on a few weeks ago and like normal, I panicked. For some reason, I hate going to get that stuff checked out. I am too afraid that it will be something major that will cost an arm and a leg. I actually drove around for 4 weeks before getting it checked. I made every effort to pray it away, cover it up with my hand as I drove, anything just to avoid. Well I finally gave in and took it to the shop to get it fixed. Turns out that the place that changed my oil did not reset the meter. So it was simply reminding me of an oil change. Nothing major at all!

That reminds me of our spiritual lives. How often do we see signs of needed change yet go about our business as usual? Many times we avoid stopping and evaluating our relationship with Jesus. Of all relationships, isn't that the one we need to keep up?!

It is easy to lose our focus in this world. Everything is competing for our affection and attention. We must be intentional!!

Children’s camp…

Well this week has gone by really slow yet really fast! I was finally able to see my family after almost two and a half weeks of being apart from them. I never like going without seeing my fam.

I was able to lead these kids in worship. They responded very well. I am always pleased to see young kids worship Jesus. I think we could all be blessed by watching the “little children” come to the Lord.

Anyways, lots to think about. Lots to do.

This means nothing…

I don't have anything to say really. I just needed to update the blog because I was tired of looking at the Michael Jackson thing every time I opened the website.

While I'm here, have you ever wondered what you are wired to do?
Do you know what it is?
Do you ever wake up in the morning and know that you were created to do a specific thing?
What is it?

Epiphany…

If we make impressions of ourselves on people's lives that is more us than Jesus, they will only be impressed temporarily.
