I hate to wait.
I hate to wait.
Even though I was tired the whole week from the sun beating down on me, I had a great time in PCB. I have been leading worship for the same church now for 7 years. I have grown to love the students there. They are from Douglasville, Ga. It was cool to see the way God moved in every service. I was able to connect again with my friend Phillip Martin. He brought the word and the word was good! Overall, I think around 15 or so students made decisions for Christ in some capacity.
The theme of the camp this week is The Cure. Jesus is the cure for the world. Students are realizing that for the first time this week. There have been around 10 decisions made for Christ.
I know that some of the guys who are in a younger, more relevant style church may see VBS as old and played out, but I must admit something, I love it. I remember being 11 years old and trusting in Jesus. I get to be on the other side doing the silly songs with the silly motions but I can't complain. I get to see my oldest son Miles just go crazy! He comes home with fun stories about Jesus. He is getting his basic understanding established! Some things should change…then again, some things should stay the same.
