SO I am finally back in the Fort. We were able to go to Georgia for the week to just get away and spend time with family. We had a great time, but I must say, it is nice to be home. So I will give you guys an update from this past week!

Ahhh….
SO, we are finally here. This week is going to be a great week of good eating and fun with the family. I also get to lead worship at a church in Douglasville, Ga. for my buddy Ric Blazi. I haven't seen them since this summer so I'm sure we will have a good time tonight.
Earlier today we stopped by our old church Dogwood, and saw some old friends.
Hopefully this week I will get to do some reading…In a pit with a lion on a snowy day is the book of choice this week.
I think we are making s'mores this week, so I will be sure to load some pictures.

Post Op…
SO I just woke up about an hour ago from my surgery this morning. I am now without 2 wisdom teeth. There are 2 gaping holes in my gums now. As far as the cyst…it wasn't there. The doctor said in his 22 years of oral surgery, he has never seen a sinus cavity that extends low like mine. So in the xray, it looked like a mass, but was really just a big sinus cavity. I saw the "mass" on the xray myself. I mean, I do have a degree from Phoenix, and I slept at a Holiday Inn Express.
All I know is this…my mouth is HURTING!!!

Barbarian Way…
SO I am reading The Barbarian Way again with a couple of guys from our small group. I have read through this book once already but I thought it would be a good read again. I find that I need to read through some things more than once to pick up anything that I missed the first time through.
This book is really challenging because it is inviting us to become untamed again. There was once a time when I was raw and as free as the wind, but now I seem tamed. I seem to be more into being a certain person in the public eye than being who God has designed me to be. I think part of the design is a spiritually alive person that moves and acts according to the Holy Spirit, not doctrine or ritual!
Our challenge this week is to see the invisible and hear the inaudible.
I don't want to be tamed. Our christian culture is tamed and civilized. I don't want to go around in camel hair and leather belts, but I do want to be alive to the Holy Spirit.
Is God asking you to do something that seems crazy?? Things from the disciple days will seem crazy to us today, so maybe God is wanting something quite crazy but quite the norm.
Try to see and hear God today! Clear yourselves from christian clutter!

Out of commission…
SO I recently went to the dentist to get the x rays and all that good stuff. I have to be honest, I haven't been to the dentist in about 3 years, so I was kind of dreading it. I do brush and floss quite regularly though. I think it might have something to do with my OCD, but anyway, I have strong teeth and healthy bones. However, my dentist found a mass in my gums. She said the T word, which threw me into a panic, but I held it together. I went to an oral surgeon the following week and he said it was a non malignant mass that is quite normal. So, here we are now on Tuesday. Two more days till I get the cyst removed, along with my wisdom teeth. Thursday is D Day for me. I should be out of commission for about 3 or 4 days. I will take some pics so you guys can see it. I might even take in the video camera!!

Backstage…
Now, something happened with my mic. It threw me off big time at the end of the message as I was trying to lead. One of the things that I always TRY to do is handle the situation with professionalism. I fail at that at times.
When something goes wrong with your deal, how do you handle it??

Family Night…
SO tonight we had another family night. I am really loving these times to just hang out with my fam. We have done several of these intentional nights here recently. On Halloween night we went to our church's Family Fest event. This was a fun, safe place to enjoy some good times. Then we had kite flying day at the beach. I'll post some of those pictures soon. Tonight, we let Miles pick out a movie for all of us to watch together and eat some Kettle Corn. Kung Fu Panda was the movie. It was really funny. Gavin and Miles both enjoyed the movie and the family time.

Book giveaway…
SO I have a lot of books. I don't really read all of my books, but I do have a lot of them. I have some really good books that I want to read but just haven't done it yet. So I want to get these books out to you guys so you can read them and maybe tell me about them. Kinda like a book report from back in the day. Just kidding!
